Access forbidden
Hi,
Since today, I’ve an subversion error when I do an update:
svn: access to 'http://jpmat296@svn2.xp-dev.com/svn/(...)' forbidden
I use the same password as for web xp-dev.com. And it was working before.
Any help ?
Thanks,
Jean-Pierre
din.ramona – Subversion retains history (it is a version control system afterall!) - you can’t just delete files/folders and expect the history of the file to be removed entirely.
If you follow our steps here, then it should be re-enabled again once you recreate the repository (which I’m guessing you didn’t do as its still disabled?):
Since few days I am not able to commit or synchronize my eclipse project to svn repository in xp-dev. The message is :
"URL access forbidden for unknown reason
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'http://xp-dev.com/svn/(...)'
svn: Access to 'http://xp-dev.com/svn/(...)
"
Thanks!
@alberto.carlesso – that’s because the project owner has gone over quota and has been for a while. The account is disabled. You should ask the owner to contact us. A couple of emails would have been sent to them as well.
@Acotoz – your project’s owner was over quota. A warning email was sent a few days ago before his account was disabled. You should notify him to fix it or upgrade, otherwise it will get disabled again
It has been re-enabled noq
@ershycapo – you have multiple accounts as a Free user, which is against our ToS. Please do raise a ticket or email us so that we can clear it up.
(On a side note, I noticed that you’ve raised a ticket and chucked a comment here – you should do either, and not both)
my colleague with username alexander.maltsev received “403 access forbidden” error, he wrote to administrator about that (no answer), changed password and now receives “user is disabled” message in login page.
he wrote to administrator again, he also wrote to skype and twitter but no one answered.
since that I’m also unable to update our repository https://xp-dev.com/svn/cutopt, are all repositories which he owned blocked now? what’s the reason?
please help!
@Andrey.Phil – we will get to him at some point. We do prioritise support requests from paying users before getting on to Free users. Reason – multiple free accounts. We will reply soon.
@Aliasay – the account owner should really contact us. His account is disabled due to having multiple free accounts.
@mehran67 – account owner was over quota – I’ve re-enabled, but you should either upgrade to a larger package or reduce your usage. You should use this guide if you need to reduce your usage.
If nothing is done, it will get disabled again! So, it is important to do something. :)
@Spider100 – normally if you’re over quota, and don’t want to wait for support to re-enable your account, you can just upgrade your account to a larger plan https://xp-dev.com/upgrade. It should get re-enabled automatically on payment.
To me it looks like you’re logging in as a different user that doesn’t have permission on that repository. You should try clearing your client’s authentication cache to force it to request your username and password again.
On a side note, the “svn upgrade” request is something on your end – your Subversion client was probably upgraded and is requesting for you to upgrade your working copy. This probably happens when upgrading from version 1.7 to 1.8. Previous versions tend to do an automatic upgrade.
@matheuspacheco your account was over quota – you should create projects under your company’s upgraded account, rather than your own free account. Do you want us to transfer your project across ?
@citefa – that normally means that your client has cached some incorrect credentials. Best thing to do is to reset them. Please see http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/nightly/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-settings.html under "Authentication Data"
@Triadian – your account is active. However, the account that owns the projects that you’re trying to access is disabled – please do get the account owner to contact us.

You were excessively polling your repository, and a mail was sent last week to notify you, but it still looks like you’re doing it.
Please do reduce your polling to once every 10 minutes.
Paid account holders do not have this restriction.
