CNAME support comes with Direct File Hosting

i.e. If you enable File Hosting (has Jekyll support0 on your repository, you can map a domain to it so that you can host your site/blog on xp-dev.com’s infrastructure

That’s not support yet — the CNAME support is for Direct File Hosting

P.S. support will come in the future, but the priority is to get Git enabled first

Yes, we support this on our dedi instances: https://xp-dev.com/pricing/dedicated

The biggest issue with using CNAME’s with your own domains are SSL certificates and having a dedicated IP address to host that certificate. While SubjectAltName SSL certificates are getting more popular, they’re still a long way off from complete support in all HTTP client libraries. On our dedi instances, you get your own dedicated IP address and you can bring along your own domain’s SSL certificate.
